Manual Machinist
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview
Great Plains Technical Services is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to support electric motor repair operations. This role focuses on precision machining of AC and DC electric motors and components, with additional repair and restoration work. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, craftsmanship, and working to exact specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual machining on AC and DC electric motors and related components
• Machine parts to specification using lathes and milling equipment
• Undercut armatures and perform precision component restoration
• Sleeve components and perform shaft repairs
• Conduct cold spray / build-up repairs on motor shafts
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Inspect and measure parts using precision measuring tools
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Welding and fabrication support as needed (a plus)

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a manual machinist
• Strong knowledge of manual lathes and milling machines
• Experience working with motor components, shafts, and armatures preferred
• Ability to machine to tight tolerances
• Welding experience is a plus but not required
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay: $25.00 – $35.00, depending on experience
