Location: Moncks Corner, SC

Position Overview

Watts Electrical is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to install, diagnose, service, and repair residential and commercial generator systems. This position is ideal for a technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills who can work independently in the field while delivering high-quality service to customers. Interested? Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission standby and portable generator systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service inspections
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system issues
• Troubleshoot fuel systems, transfer switches, and starting systems
• Conduct load bank testing and operational performance checks
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer manuals
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards
• Provide professional customer communication during service calls

Qualifications

• 3+ years of generator, electrical, or diesel technician experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial generator systems
• Experience troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems
• Familiarity with automatic transfer switches
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to work outdoors and respond to emergency service calls when needed

Preferred Skills

• Experience with major generator brands (Generac, Kohler, Cummins, etc.)
• Electrical licensing or certification (a plus)
• Field service experience
• Basic networking or controller programming knowledge
