Job Overview
C&A Generator Service LLC is seeking an experienced Generator Service Technician with 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in power generation. This role covers preventive maintenance, load bank testing, diagnostic repair, and installation across residential homeowner units (15–20 kW) up to large commercial and industrial systems (up to 1.5 MW V12 generators).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and load testing on emergency standby and prime power systems.

• Install, commission, and connect residential (15–20 kW) and commercial/industrial (up to 1.5 MW) power generation units.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, fuel, and mechanical components on gas and diesel engines up to large-displacement V12 configurations.

• Perform automatic transfer switch (ATS) testing, wiring, and system diagnostics.

• Respond to service calls, complete field work orders, and communicate service findings directly with residential and commercial clients.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 5 years of proven field experience working on standby generator systems and industrial engines.

• Brand Knowledge: Familiarity with major power equipment manufacturers, including Cummins, Kohler, HiPower, Waukesha generators, MTU, and Detroit Diesel.

• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of diesel and gaseous engines, AC/DC electrical systems, automatic transfer switches, and digital controller panels.

• License & Credentials: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; electrical licenses or manufacturer certifications (Cummins, Kohler, EGSA) are a strong plus. CDL A preferably.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency power outages.
