Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Generator Technician with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on Generac experience to join our field service team. In this role, you will perform on-site troubleshooting, routine preventative maintenance, warranty repairs, and start-up commissioning for Generac gaseous and diesel standby generator systems and automatic transfer switches (ATS) throughout Northwest Ohio.

Key Responsibilities
• Generac Diagnostics & Repair: Perform complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and warranty repair on Generac air-cooled and liquid-cooled standby power systems.

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct multi-point field inspections, oil/filter changes, battery load testing, and system checkups on residential, commercial, and agricultural units.

• Transfer Switch & Electrical Service: Inspect, repair, and wire Generac Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), digital controllers, voltage regulators, and utility sensing circuits.

• Emergency Response & On-Call: Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to deliver rapid emergency service during severe weather and power outages.

• Customer Service & Reporting: Communicate repair findings and maintenance recommendations clearly to clients while completing digital field service reports accurately.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: 4+ years of dedicated, hands-on field experience servicing and repairing Generac generator systems.

• Technical Skills:

o In-depth mastery of Generac control panels (Evolution, Nexus, etc.), engine mechanics, and ATS functionality.

o Proficient using digital multimeters, insulation testers, and Generac diagnostic software.

o Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical schematics and power distribution.

• Certifications: Generac Air-Cooled / Liquid-Cooled Factory Certification strongly preferred.

• Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.

• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
