Summary/objective:
CP Packaging is seeking a motivated individual to work in a team environment to complete assembly power cabinets, electrical panel components and other general assembly of packaging machinery for the food industry
Essential Functions:
• Prepares work to be completed by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. • Ensure all mechanical and electrical components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. • Mount parts and subassemblies using templates and/or drawings, neatly route cables using electrical schematics verifying specifications by measuring completed component. • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Including safe operation of hand and power tools. • Actively seeks team support for problem-solving and participates with ideas for continuous improvement. • Assist operations with other assemblies, subassemblies, or frames safely using hand and power tools.
Requirements:
Qualifications: • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics, understand terminology and apply best electrical assembly practices with respect panel building, wire distribution, cable management and electrical systems, ensuring the quality and safety of the build. • Good mechanical ability and manual dexterity are essential. • Maintain tool requirement needs. Competencies: • Able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors on judgements made to complete individual projects through telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person. • Strong decision and problem-solving skills to provide solutions and ability to evaluate and present solutions to individuals relevant to the project. • Must have positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to take direction from experienced co-workers. • Observing, receiving, & otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources.
Supervisory responsibilities:
None Work environment: Shop environment. Noise level is moderate when machines are running. Physical demands: Be able to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. Able to sit, stand, stand, stoop, and walk for extended periods of time. Travel: Limited travel may be necessary.
Education and experience: • 2-3 years of electrical assembly experience preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
$20 – $35 an hour
