Job Description

Conrey Electric is an Electric Motor Repair Company in Portland, OR. We offer Electric Motor Repair Services and have over 90 Years of Experience. Our company prides itself on maintaining a clean, state of the art facility, providing quality service to our customers and employing and retaining great people.

We are currently seeking an Electric Motor Rewinder to join our shop.

Job Description:

Rewind electric motors, and stators. Inspect equipment and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for failure. Provide information on parts/work required. Provide recommendations to improve reliability of equipment.

Prior knowledge of random winding up to 200 HP is a plus. Prior knowledge of single and 3 phase motors a plus. Prior winding knowledge of: Wave winding, random winding, basket winding, mesh winding, lap winding a plus.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Will be required to learn and perform our motor stripping process, which requires use of a respirator and the ability to withstand stripping room environment and temperatures.
  • Take physical measurements, electrical measurements, and verify connections of winding
  • Strip and remove windings:
    • Core loss test laminations
    • Take data
    • Cut winding head precisely with abrasive saw
    • Heat windings to around 400 Fahrenheit
  • Assist with dipping, trickling, vacuum pressure, and encapsulation of windings
  • Performs other routine duties as assigned and required by management.

Requirements:

High School diploma or a general education degree (GED). Electrical or mechanical aptitude needed. Prior work at electric motor shop a plus
