We are a premier electric motor shop based in Tacoma, WA. Our company sells and repairs large industrial electric motors, pumps, and generators. Our customers range from large ocean-going vessels to manufacturing plants, to spa resorts. We pride ourselves in maintaining a clean facility and retaining great employees.

We have current opening for Electric Motor Rewinder at our facility.

Job description:

Troubleshoot, rewind, service and repair various electric motors (AC/DC), pumps, gearboxes, generators, power transmissions, controls and other electrical mechanical rotating equipment. Rewind motors up to 1000 HP. Great career for a candidate seeking a fun work environment and to expand their knowledge. We encourage all to apply!

Location: In our shop

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Understand and follow all Safety processes and procedures including the use of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Test electro-mechanical rotating equipment using specialized equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various testing methods (AC/DC).
• Disassemble equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
• Prepare inspection form along with identification of replacement parts.
• Clean equipment assemblies as needed.
• Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electrical parts and assemblies, included but limited to: Brushes, bearings, brush holders, gears, seals, impellers, brakes etc.
• Test repaired apparatus for proper output and/or operation
• Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Job Requirements:

• General electrical and mechanical aptitude and assembly knowledge (1-3 years preferred)
• Reliable and strong work ethic
• Initiative to learn new things and advance your knowledge in the trade
• High school diploma
• Knowledge of random winding, wave winding, lap winding, rotor winding a plus!
