Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electric Motor Technician (Shop Mechanic) to join our team. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of motors. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Duties:

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace faulty components in a motor.
  • Responsible for motor tear down, inspection, testing, and clearly communicating your findings to the GM.
  • Responsible for reassembling motors.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
  • At least 5 years of motor rebuilding experience, required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
