Job Description

Automation Field Technician

Travel: Domestic with infrequent North American International 30%-70%

Salary Range: $24 – $26 per hour plus travel premium

EAM is a well-known custom automation manufacturer in Biddeford, Maine. This person is a dedicated/customer-oriented individual trained in EAM high-speed labeling equipment. The position will manage equipment installations, field service, scheduled maintenance, customer training and machine assembly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn to build, test, install and service EAM standard-high speed labeling equipment.
• Provide technical support and training.
• Support the EAM Labeler Support Hotline when needed.
• Write detailed field-service reports.
• Customer communication on projects and job progress.
• Build/maintain professional relationships with customers and sales team.
• Contribute to a professional and profitable service organization.

Qualifications

• Formal electrical/mechanical training from a university or technical school is preferred, or 4 years of experience with industrial automation maintenance & troubleshooting.
• The ability to travel within North America on short notice, ramp up to 30-70% travel is expected.
• Strong mechanical/electronic skills to analyze and resolve problems of complex machinery.
• Understand and work with PLC’s.
• Logical, customer-oriented solution thinking.
• Self-motivated, aspiring to improve technical knowledge and keep skills sharp.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Highly focused on customer service to exceed client expectations.
• Broad knowledge/experience with MS Office products.
• Flexible working hours to meet customer needs. Occasional weekend and off-shift hours.
