Well established leading manufacturer of Swiss-type CNC machinery with offices in New York, Calif, Ohio, and Illinois and looking for a Service Engineer in the NY office. Their main responsibility is to provide excellent customer service while maintaining equipment, with specific Service Engineer’s job duties including:

· Installing or upgrading Star equipment maintained by the company in various field locations

· Configuring hardware and software components after installation

· Performing routine maintenance on Star Machines

· Testing equipment to troubleshoot the issues

· Documenting installation repairs and communications with customers

· Maintaining all tools and equipment used during Service calls

· Teaching customers how to use/repair the equipment properly

· Communicate directly with Manager at time of job completion

Service Engineer will work in the field, traveling to customer locations to provide service, maintenance, and installation. Use your technical skills to troubleshoot issues when they arise to keep the customer’s equipment functioning properly. A Service Engineer not only ensures the equipment is installed and working properly, but also manages customer relationships to boost customer retention and satisfaction, which ultimately boosts the company’s profitability.

Service Engineer will also be required to provide technical support to customers, as well as other Service Engineers, from the Office.

Service Engineer needs various prerequisite skills and qualifications to fill the position, including:

· Strong customer service skills

· Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms

· Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment

· Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule

· Attention to detail to identify issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs

· Organizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field

· Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully

Qualification:

High school degree or equivalent. Prior experience at cnc shop a plus. Travel is required.

Requirements:

  • Aptitude for mechanical and electrical trouble-shooting
  • Excellent driving record, with valid drivers license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dedication to top notch customer service
  • Accurately complete paperwork
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willing to be on call

Salary and Benefits:

The starting annual salary is $50-$70k commensurate with experience.
