Job Description

Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream. We currently have opportunities for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Brenham, TX, and Broken Arrow, OK locations. The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform preventative maintenance on plant production equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining pumps, motors, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment. Be able to work a 45-hour work week. Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays. Must be able to work with and learn from others in a team environment. Some work in the cold storage areas will also be required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technician Functions

• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, valves, piping systems and structures.
• Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot machine operation, perform equipment maintenance and ensure good housekeeping practices are followed in all shop areas.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years’ maintenance experience and/or training is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude is required, basic math skills are preferred and must know how to read a tape measure.
• Some basic lubrication / electrical / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
• Shop tool skills and knowledge such as: Drill press / Bandsaw / Bead Blaster / Hand tools / Shop welding equipment are a plus.
