Job Description

GenServe is the premier backup generator maintenance company and is growing quickly. To meet the demand, we’re always looking to add new members to our team.

Role Summary:

The Generator Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and field repairs on generators of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records. Generator Technicians will perform troubleshooting of commercial and industrial diesel/natural gas generators including automatic transfer switches and load-bank testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems
  2. Troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, and start-ups
  3. Identifying causes of generator problems and/or failures
  4. Participating in “On-Call” rotation
  5. Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed

REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:

  1. We are open to all levels of related experience/training. Talk to our recruiter to see if you’re qualified
  2. Previous experience working on commercial and industrial generators is a plus
  3. Preferred knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems (such as generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units)
  4. Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  5. Excellent organizational skills
  6. Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
  7. The ability to participate in an on-call, rotating schedule (On-call 24/7)
  8. Valid Driver’s License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions that are associated with inclement weather as well as working indoors with generator machinery.
  2. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  3. Normal vision range (with or without corrective eyewear); ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

Salary and benefits:

FLORIDA & TEXAS PAY RANGES:

  • Level 1: $35.00 + per hour
  • Level 2: $$28.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • Level 3: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
  • Entry Level: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
