Job Description
GenServe is the premier backup generator maintenance company and is growing quickly. To meet the demand, we’re always looking to add new members to our team.
Role Summary:
The Generator Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and field repairs on generators of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records. Generator Technicians will perform troubleshooting of commercial and industrial diesel/natural gas generators including automatic transfer switches and load-bank testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, and start-ups
- Identifying causes of generator problems and/or failures
- Participating in “On-Call” rotation
- Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:
- We are open to all levels of related experience/training. Talk to our recruiter to see if you’re qualified
- Previous experience working on commercial and industrial generators is a plus
- Preferred knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems (such as generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units)
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
- The ability to participate in an on-call, rotating schedule (On-call 24/7)
- Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions that are associated with inclement weather as well as working indoors with generator machinery.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Normal vision range (with or without corrective eyewear); ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
Salary and benefits:
FLORIDA & TEXAS PAY RANGES:
- Level 1: $35.00 + per hour
- Level 2: $$28.00 – $35.00 per hour
- Level 3: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
- Entry Level: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
