Open Position: Electric Motor Mechanic

We are seeking an Electric Motor Mechanic to be based out of our Tampa facility. The Mechanic must be able to perform routine, winding, preventive maintenance and repairs on electric motors, pumps, blowers, generators and gearboxes. Prior electric motor shop work experience a must.

Salary: Salary based on experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Rewind and repair pumps, electric motors up to 1000 HP
• Disassemble and reassemble various types of rotating equipment, such as pumps, centrifugal, submersible, vertical, turbine, gear reducers, electric motors, and blowers
• Set tolerances for bearing fit and clearances, motor connections, and testing
• Laser alignment/vibration analysis
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report all unsafe activity
• Work around the shop as necessary

Qualifications:

• Technical/Vocational training preferred
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required
• Relative understanding of machinery
• Able to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism.
• Able to complete work within assigned deadlines.
• Knowledgeable of various winding techniques such as random winding, coil winding, rotor winding, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
