Job Description

Best Repair Inc. has been in business since 1958. We are a complete electric motor repair and service shop in Norfolk, VA.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic to join our team.

Job Description:

Constructs, maintains, and tests electric motor systems and components. Uses measuring and diagnostic tools to test, modify and repair electric motor units. Ensures systems and components meet established specifications. May be required to perform field service duties. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Other duties as assigned.

Types of equipment frequently worked on in our shops:

· AC/DC Electric motors/Generators· Gearboxes· Pumps· Related equipment

Skills:

Experience in the testing and repair of mechanical assemblies, electrical wiring, electronic accessories, computer systems and electronic components. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills; written and verbal. Prior experience working at an electric motor shop or electro-mechanical shop a plus. Ability to use a computer (windows environment). Ability to work in a group as well as independently. In depth experience in troubleshooting and servicing a variety of production equipment.

· Mechanically Incline· Troubleshooting/problem-solving skills· Basic math skills· Attention to detail

Types of tools frequently used for repairs:

· Basic hand tools (sockets, ratchet, wrenches, pliers, etc.)· Power tools (drills, impact, grinders, etc.)· Precision tools (micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, etc.)· Oxygen and acetylene (cutting torch, rosebud, etc.)· Electrical Testing (multi-meter, meggers, etc.)· Industry-specific electrical equipment (Baker- AWA, PDMA, CSI vibration analyzer, Phoenix test stand)· Operation of overhead Crain and Forklift
