We specialize in custom machining and fabricating of metal parts, with extensive experience in the power generation field and a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual machine equipment to make precision parts. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision work and a willingness to learn CNC machining.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders
• Machine parts from raw materials including, but not limited to, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, superalloys, and bronze.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
• Hold tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Deburr, finish, and clean completed parts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and shop math
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Experience working with close tolerances
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well with others

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CNC machining (a plus, not required)
• Welding or fabrication experience (a plus, not required)
• Experience in a job shop environment
• Familiarity with bearing fits, tolerances, and assemblies

Work Environment

• Shop-based role in Philadelphia, PA
• Standing for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
