Apex is currently looking for our next top-level service tech to join our team!

Job Overview

• Repair various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment – including but not limited to AC/DC Motors, Pumps and Gearboxes
• Read job cards to determine job status, work authorization/limitations, estimates, description of problems and expected service ability
• Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods and special testing equipment
• Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
• Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to parts washers/steamers
• Correctly requisition needed items from purchasing department
• Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies – including but not limited to bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanic switches, brakes and clutches
• Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operations. Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
• Operations specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
• Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear
• Lift, tighten, adjust and secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties
• Must be dependable and prompt

Qualifications

• Must have 2-5 years of Electrical Mechanical Experience or Applied Education
• Winding Experience a Plus
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• In-depth mechanical knowledge
• Proficiency in using an ohmmeter
• Ability to diagnose and repair various mechanical systems
• Experience with electrical components and systems
• Familiarity with safety protocols in repair environments
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
