Position Overview

Great Plains Technical Services is seeking a skilled Electric Motor Winder to join our full-time repair team. This role involves the rewinding, repair, and testing of a wide range of electric motors and rotating electrical equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Rewind and repair AC and DC electric motors, generators, armatures, stators, and rotors
• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, aluminum, steel, and related materials
• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing, including core loss, hi-pot, balance, meg-ohm, and similar verification tests
• Inspect components to ensure repairs meet quality and performance standards
• Accurately document rewind data and testing results
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality guidelines

Qualifications

• Previous electric motor winding experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC motor construction and rewind processes
• Experience with brazing and soldering techniques
• Familiarity with electrical testing procedures and instruments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
